    Snowflake

    The term “Snowflake” was first coined by professor and author, Mark Richardson, in 2016. He used it to describe the unique characteristics and traits of this generation. Richardson argued that Snowflakes are individuals who have been coddled by their parents and have a strong sense of entitlement, which makes them feel vulnerable and sensitive to criticism or perceived slights.

    Example 

    A bar has defended its name change, with the owner branding people complaining as “snowflakes.”

  • Rife

    Of common or frequent occurrence; prevalent; in widespread existence, activity, or use

    Example 

    They can say what they want, we all know that two tier is rife in all aspects under this government.

  • Ankle biter

    Ankle biter 

    A small child or a small dog

    Examples 

    “And how are you, John? and how’s Molly, and all the little ankle-biters?” 

    And who can forget the so called friend and maybe a couple more ankle biters.

  • In the driver’s seat

    In the driver’s seat

    In control of a situation 

    Example 

    We’re still leading in the polls, so nobody panic—we’re in the driver’s seat here.

  • Walk on eggshells

    Walk on eggshells

    To act with great care and consideration so as not to upset someone 

    Examples

    Lead instead of walking on eggshells around the rest of the world.

    The littlest thing tends to anger my mother, so I feel like I have to walk on eggshells whenever I’m at her house.

  • Hog

    Hog

    To take or use more than your share of something

    Example 

    He is trying to hog the limelight.

  • Brat

    Brat

    An ill-mannered annoying child

    Example 

    He is what he is….a spoilt brat…

  • Feckless

    Feckless 

    Weak in character or lacking determination, Ineffective, Irresponsible , incompetent, inept, or without purpose in life

    Examples

    He is a feckless leader when push comes to shove.

    Alas, we have a bunch of feckless fools in power.

  • Pull the plug on

    Pull the plug on

    To stop supporting or bring to an end

    Example

    Pull the plug on it and watch how fast a deal gets done.

  • A bean counter

    A bean counter

    A disparaging term for a person who is involved in financial decisions and reluctant to spend money

    Example 

    This guy is a bean counter with no experience at all. It’s embarrassing.
